Hospital bag. What did I really use

The big moment has finally come! Your baby is about to join the world!

I had my hospital bag ready at week 30. Was it too early to have it ready? According to my doctor and my midwife, babies can pop up anytime after the 7th month of pregnancy and I had preferred to be prepared as suggested.

My hospital bag was in reality 3 bags, one for me, one for my baby, and one for daddy.

The items I will be listing down below, are what I had used during my 2 nights' stay at the hospital.

My hospital bag

- My pillow

- Nursing pajamas (in case you are planning to breastfeed your baby)

- Granny pants (comfortable & high waist) and maternity pads

- Slippers, shower sandals & socks

- Nursing bra, breast pads, & nipple cream

- Hairbrush/hair ties/headband/clips

- Shampoo/conditioner, body wash soap & deodorant (the hospital provided bath essentials but I preferred to have my own)

- Face wash, morning/night cream, makeup bag & mirror, lip balm

- Toothbrush & toothpaste

- My favorite music, a small Bluetooth speaker & headphones

- Phone charger & selfie stick

- Going home comfy outfit

- Dirty bag for clothing

- Jellies (you can get pretty exhausted during labor while pushing this baby out so you need some sugar to kick in)

- Salty crackers (I just love them anytime)

- Straws (you might need to drink some water during labor time )

My baby's hospital bag

- Sleep-suits x3

- Newborn hat x2

- Newborn scratch mitts x2

- Newborn socks

- Nappies and water wipes

- Muslin cloths x2, swaddling blankets x3, and one warm blanket

- Burp cloths x3

- Going home outfit and outfit for photos

- Car seat

- Dirty clothes bag

- Bath essentials & body cream

My husband's hospital bag

- Change of clothes x2

- Socks/underwear

- Pyjamas

- Deodorant

- Charger

- Camera

- Pillow

Since I chose to breastfeed my baby, I bought an organic soap - instead of a shower gel - that was perfume-free and I did not use a body cream either. Babies have very sensitive skin during the first weeks/months so I made sure that my skin was always clean and just had mommy's scent.

One thing that I would have loved to have bought but I forgot, was an Amethyst crystal that promotes calmness, and relaxation and releases stress. Well, maybe next time ;)

What's gonna be in YOUR hospital bag?!

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and see you soon :)

All the best,

Clio
